Edgar Montilion " Monti " Vulli[1] (1888 yil 17 avgust) – 1963 yil 6-may) - amerikalik kino va teatr aktyori.[2] 50 yoshida u 1939-yilda sahnalashtirilgan “Kechki ovqatga kelgan odam” spektaklidagi roli va uning 1942-yilgi filmga moslashuvi uchun yulduzlik darajasiga erishdi. Uning o'ziga xos oq soqoli uning savdo belgisi edi va u mehr bilan "Soqol" nomi bilan tanilgan.

Vulli Nyu-Yorkdagi Manxettenda Uilyam Edgar Vulli (1845-1927) va Jessi nei Arms (1857-1927) oilasida tug'ilgan va eng yuqori ijtimoiy doiralarda o'sgan. Vulli Koul Porter yaqin do'st va sinfdosh bo'lgan Yel universitetida bakalavr darajasini, Yel va Garvard universitetlarida magistrlik darajasini oldi.[3] Oxir-oqibat u Yelda ingliz tili bo'yicha dotsent va drama murabbiyi bo'ldi.[4] Tornton Uaylder va Stiven Vinsent Benet uning shogirdlari orasida edi. Vulli 1929-yilda Brodveyda rejissyorlikni boshladi[6] va akademik faoliyatini tark etgandan keyin 1936-yilda u yerda aktyorlik faoliyatini boshladi. 1939 yilda u Kaufman va Xart nomli “Kechki ovqatga kelgan odam” komediyasida 783 ta spektakl uchun rol o‘ynadi. Aynan shu yaxshi ko'rib chiqilgan roli uchun u ari tilli, o'ta nafosatli sifatida yozildi.[7][8]

Vulli va Koul Porter Nyu-Yorkda va chet el sayohatlarida birga ko'plab sarguzashtlarni boshdan kechirishgan, ammo Porter Vulining qora tanli erkakni sevgilisi sifatida qabul qilishini ma'qullamagan.[9] Vulli ilmiy va boshqa ishlarda gey va yopiq sifatida tasvirlangan.[10][11][12]

1939-yildan boshlab Vulli 1911-yilda Yel universitetini tamomlagan gey sherigi Keri Ebbott bilan yashadi. Abbott ehtiyotkorlik bilan Vullining "kuryer-kotib-sayohatdagi sherigi" sifatida tanilgan. 1942 yilda Vulli va Abbott Saratoga-Springsdagi uyga ko'chib o'tishdi va u yerda Abbott 1948 yilda o'pka saratonidan 58 yoshida vafot etguniga qadar birga yashashdi[13]
