Hyphomicrobiales gram-manfiy alfaproteobakteriyalar guruhidir .

Azotni tutuvchi va oʻsimlik ildizlari bilan simbioz holda yashovchi rizobiya bir nechta turli oʻsimlik oilalarda paydo boʻladi. Nitrobakteriyalar, Gifomikobakteriyalar, Fillobakteriyalar va Rizobakteriyalar kabi tarkibida azot saqlovchi, dukkakli oʻsimliklarni tugunaklarida yashovchi mikrosimbiotik bakteriyalarning kamida bir nechta avlodi mavjud. Misollar, Bradirizobium va Rhizobium avlodlari. Methylocystaceae turlari - metanotroflar; ular yagona energiya va uglerod manbalari sifatida metanol (CH 3 OH) yoki metan (CH 4) dan foydalanadilar. Boshqa muhim avlodlar - inson patogenlari Bartonella va Brucella, shuningdek, Agrobacterium (genetik muhandislikda foydali).

Hyphomicrobialesning kamida toʻrt turida tabiiy genetik transformatsiya qayd etilgan: Agrobacterium tumefaciens,[6] Methylobakterium organophilum,[7] Ensifer adhaerens,[8] va Bradyrhizobium japonicum .[9] Tabiiy genetik transformatsiya - bu oraliq muhit orqali bir bakterial hujayradan ikkinchisiga DNKni oʻtkazish va homolog rekombinatsiya orqali donorlar ketma-ketligini qabul qiluvchi genomga integratsiyalashuvini oʻz ichiga olgan jinsiy jarayon.
