| Taʼrif | Daylight streams through a window at the far end of inside a cavernous prayer hall in the Juma Mosque in Shemakha, Azerbaijan. Services were not ongoing and the mosque was completely empty which gave me a pretty free run to walk around and photograph as I wished. The only sore point so far had been my guide Ibrahim not meeting the dress code as he was wearing bermudas, but he soon got past that when the caretaker grudgingly let him in after he promised me that his charge, the tourist from India (me) only wants a few minutes to take a few pictures and then off we go.
